This place actually closed down....not a shock. They didn't keep up with it as much as they should have. Food was decent though, so it sucks that it didn't catch on.

wow! first time i had this place was a few weeks ago... we ate in the restaurant and what a fun experience... just a clean, well serviced.... the place is about to be remodeled so looking forward to seeing what they come up with. one thing i loved is when he was making our sandwiches he had the pita bread whip the juices coming out of the meat..... great taste!

My cousins have ordered huge to-go orders from this place on some family occasions and I think it is awesome. I've eaten everything they have gotten, which includes lamb, beef, chicken, breaded chicken, garlic sauce, hummus, pita, fattoush salad, fresh veggies -- everything is on point and tastes great. It's a great meal, and it's so good I usually grab a second helping. I'm not sure how the service is inside, but the food is definitely worth eating..

I ate here with a friend because we were looking for a good Middle Eastern restaurant and Shish Kabob got good reviews. I'll start with the positive. Our waitress was very nice. The rest of the meal was a disaster. We were the only customers in the restaurant for a 12:30 lunch, which should have been a clue. We got to our booth, which wasn't quite bolted into the wall and the table started tipping. As a new restaurant, I ordered the combo platter to get as many options as possible. The kabob was nothing but ground hamburger meat with no seasoning on a plate, the chicken was truly awful and the side of rice never arrived (but even after explaining that it didn't come twice, we still got charged for it). We also ordered the garlic paste, which was nothing but mayonnaise with a little garlic seasoning. As the strangest kicker of them all, we were also given a box of Kleenex. I'm not certain if it was because they thought we'd cry or not, but I've never had an entire box of Kleenex delivered to my table.

We get carry out from this place all the time for the past 5 years, every other party is catered by these guys. Great value for the food, try the combo plate for 2, it lasts 3 days for us. Meat and rice are absolutely delicious, we've never had a bad experience and between us and all of our friends, we got carry out here at least 20-30 times. Combo plate for $50 is great for a party.

I eat middle eastern food at least three times a week and let me tell you that this place is the best tasting between all the middle eastern places in sterling heights or troy. there combo plates are the best to order to try different variety of meats.

The menu at Shish Kabob is smaller than most. 2 of my favorite items (fattoush and garlic sauce) didn't make the list. My coworker and I selected the lunch combo- kabob, rice, stew, salad and pickled veggies for $5.99. The kabob was very delicately flavored, slightly dry and was more like kafta then kabob. The stew was my favorite part of the meal. It consisted of white beans is a very thick tomato broth and was spiced with curry, garlic and heavy notes of cumin. The rice was plentiful (I would guess 2 heaping cups), moist, fluffy and flavorful. I used the dressing that came with the salad to dip my kabob in. It was interesting, almost a Russian/Greek/Ranch mixture. I wish I had a more distinguished palate so I could differentiate the flavors in the it. The pita bread I got with the meal was semi-stale and the pickled veggies were really lacking in flavor. I didn't get a warm fuzzy from the staff, and I tried to reason that it was perhaps a language barrier, but I'm not sure that was the case. A smile is pretty universal, but it's wasn't present at Shish Kabob.

Ordered take out from here for the 3rd time and I really wanted to reward this place with a positive review. I ordered the 2 person combo (could have easily fed 4) for the great price of $15. Tray was loaded with 4 kafta (2 beef/2 chicken), chicken cream chops, chicken tikka, beef gus (basically shawarma), and enough rice to feed a family of 6! It also included 2 stews that you serve over the rice ( white bean and a potato curry). Everything was delicious and really tasted like home cooking. This same meal would cost about $40 at Sahara (incredibly overrated in my opinion) across the street. Not a great atmosphere for dining in as like many other middle eastern restaurants the owners feel inclined to have a TV on at incredibly loud volume (can never understand this). Great choice for takeout.
